2012 The Lunar Water Dragon Year of Power and Good Luck begins midnight January 22.
2012 promises to be a special year of consolidation, creativity, and new beginnings for True Dharma IBM. We are creating a substantial website truedharma.org that will incorporate highlights of the past activities of Jin Bup Frank Tedesco and True Dharma International Buddhist Mission. We are going to expand membership all over the world and report of the good dharma works of members on the various continents. I may be contacting you, kind readers, for your input and news about your enlightening activities. We intend to post the many interviews with notable dharma people I have published in the past few years and many more.
I conceive True Dharma is a network of intelligent and committed students of Buddha's virtuous path. You can be lay or ordained or otherwise self-identified as a "dharmafarer". Do you cultivate the truths of your minds and hearts as suggested by the "enlightened ones"? Have you evolved past the "honeymoon" phase of Buddhist seeking? Do you dissatisfied with or question what is presented as "dharma" by the current crop of high profile gurus, lamas and sages? Do you feel bound and constricted by the Buddhist institutions you have been supporting? Has dharma and cultural preservation become a confused jumble that inhibits your freedom of expression? Does it seem that class and race configure your dharma experience in some way? Have you seen the glass barriers of fundamentalist dharma lineages shatter? Do you feel you are on a liberating path or a path of comfort- feel-good charisma, trendy, "upper middle" way, stylish, "correct" and exclusive. Sakyamuni was born entitled yet he left his gated community to live an abstinent life of poverty and selfless service for 45 years until he passed with nothing but wisdom and compassion. He taught to the very end of his life at age 80. No retirement. No grandchildren. No estate taxes. Knowing everything disintegrates and striving on diligently.
Welcome to the brotherhood and sisterhood of True Dharma IBM. Watch the website develop. Write and call. Be kind to yourself, family, friends and strangers. Love animals especially. Please don't harm them or eat them. Think of the suffering of others. For liberation, cherish others. We are but a speck of dust in millions of billions of inner and outer world systems. Everything is perfect as it is. Act from your heart to free others. Exhale. Smile.
